Rejection, rejection, wait a minute!

I have been querying for about three months with the re-re-re-revised version of my book and so far my stats aren’t great. Dismal, more like. I’m getting rejections left and right – one time within 15 minutes of sending my query! That’s gotta be some sort of record, right? I try to not take it personally, but damn! this is my baby, and apparently it’s unlovable (there are many factors at play here, chief among them is the fact that the publishing industry is in disarray and agents are overwhelmed by work. I queried someone today and they’ve received almost 500 queries in the past TWO weeks).

But, in my last blog post I mentioned that I hadn’t received a single request for a full (when you query you typically only send in the first 10-50 pages and a full is the whole damn thing). I’m happy to report that that’s no longer true! Two agents have requested a full. TWO! Fuuuuuck yeah!

I’ll be riding that high for awhile. Well, at least until the next batch of rejections come flooding in.

Tally-ho, friends!

P.S. While I wait for replies on my queries, I keep busy by writing the sequel. It’s going to be soooooo GOOD!
